- Boards & terrain - Board games are still as popular as ever and below are some examples of boards I have worked on. Since the 1970s tabletop games have become more widespread. These are like board games, but may not use boards in quite the same way or might not use a board at all. As an alternative to a board a tabletop game may use floorplan tiles. These are typically plan views of rooms and corridors which can be fitted together in different configurations to provide variety. A game may forego a board entirely and instead use 3D "terrain". Sometimes people make terrain as railway modellers make scenery (using polystyrene, wood and paint etc.) while others use more "papercraft" methods of printing designs onto card and assembling the pieces. It is this latter sort I create.
